Builders baseball remains fifth in USCAA coaches poll
The Apprentice School baseball team remains ranked fifth in the latest United States Collegiate Athletic Association Coaches Top 20 poll.
The Builders went 2-1 this past week, falling 5-3 to Christopher Newport, the No. 3 team in NCAA Division III, and beating Rappahannock Community College, 6-5, before knocking off Thomas Nelson Community College, 20-1.
Spalding University (Ky.) is the No. 1 team in the country while Rochester College out of Michigan is No. 2. Selma University (Ala.) is No. 3 and Clark State out of Ohio is No. 4.
The Builders are 19-12 on the season. The Builders have a home game against Albemarle at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 and will square off against Virginia University of Lynchburg at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 12.
The Apprentice School will battle defending USCAA national champion Virginia University in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14 in Buena Vista.
