Newport News Police arrest man on charges of burglary, make other arrests Tuesday

The Newport News Police Department reported the following incidents Tuesday, July 3, 2012.

The Newport News Police Department arrested Michael A. Majette, 52, in the 1300 block of Roanoke Avenue Tuesday. Majette was arrested at 12:01 a.m. on charges of possession of burglarious tools, entering property to damage and destruction of private property with damage amounting to less than $1,000.

The Newport News Police Department arrested Luran A. Eley, 21, in the 300 block of Pear Ridge Circle Tuesday. Eley was arrested at 8:15 a.m. on charges of first offense possession of marijuana, firearm, etc: pointing, brandishing a weapon, non-domestic protection order violation and third offense firearm purchase/transport.

On Tuesday the Newport News Sheriff's Office arrested Michael R. McGravey on charges of failing to register or providing false information as a sex offender. McGravey, 32, was taken into custody from the 200 block of 26th Street at 10:30 a.m.
