Robbery suspect turns himself in to Newport News police
Keondre Marquise Williams, one of six men accused of robbing and assaulting a Newport News man Sunday, July 1, surrendered at Newport News police headquarters around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 5, according to a police press release.
Williams exercised his right not to answer questions.
Newport News police had been looking for Williams and five other men, who are accused of robbing a 34-year-old Newport News man as he walked along 26th Street around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1, according to an earlier police press release.
So far, police have identified only Williams as one of the men who allegedly struck the man, took his cell phone and delivered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the head before running away.
