Greater Walters A. M. E. Zion Church to welcome new pastor

A welcome service for the newly appointed Mid Atlantic II Episcopal District Bishop Richard K. Thompson and Georgia E. Thompson, missionary supervisor, is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11.

The service will be held at Greater Walters A. M. E. Zion Church, 656 28th St., Newport News.

Bishop Thompson was assigned to the Newport News district during the 49th Quadrennial Session of the General Conference of the A. M. E. Zion Church in July. The Rev. Kenneth W. Arrington Sr. is the host pastor.
