Feeding 5,000 celebration set for Nov. 17

The Feeding 5,000 Thanksgiving Harvest and Community Celebration will run from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 at the farmers market in Newport News.

Many members and groups in the community will be sponsoring and volunteering in this humanitarian event. Over 5,000 people will be fed at the event, and volunteers will assemble food baskets for families in need.

Admission is free.

The farmers market is located at 2801 Jefferson Ave.
