Olivia Spencer of Newport News admitted to Carleton College

Carleton College, of Northfield, Minn., has announced that Olivia Spencer, of Newport News, has been admitted to its class of 2016.

Spencer is the daughter of Luther and Laura Spencer, and is a graduate of Menchville High School.

Carleton College is a private liberal arts university, located 40 miles south of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn.

Carleton College is at 1 College St., Northfield.
