'The Origin of the Elements' lecture set for Nov. 13
The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility will sponsor the lecture "The Origin of the Elements" at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at CEBAF Center Auditorium.
The event, the second part of the Jefferson Lab Science Series Talk, will be presented by Edward Murphy of the University of Virginia's astronomy department.
Attendees will learn how the elements were forged in the nuclear furnaces inside the stars and how and when they die.
All those younger than age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. Everyone older than 16 should carry a valid photo ID.
Security guards may perform ID, parcel and vehicle checks.
A live video stream is available for those not able to attend.
CEBAF Center Auditorium is at 12000 Jefferson Ave., Newport News.
